Description
he Mayo Stand is an integral ingredient for successful outcomes in any surgical procedure. The unique tray support enables the tray to be extended over the bed or table to hold instruments and supplies directly adjacent to the surgical site. This provides a work surface for the surgeon and nurse near to their work area. This foot control version is the most widely used style in operating rooms around the world.
Due to the harsh environment of the operating room, it is important to know the material your mayo stand is constructed from. The material must stand up to cleaning and disinfecting between every case. Ensure you choose 304 grade stainless steel, as this one is made out of, to ensure your stand does not rust or corrode. This style is fully welded which ensure there are no cavities to collect unwanted substances, and also provides superior strength and longevity.
This mayo stand has been recently upgraded to make it a better fit for your facility. The 2″ composite ‘sayno2rust’ casters are made to inhibit rust appearing on the caster in your operating room. They are also very easy to change in the field if there is an event where the caster gets damaged. In the past, there has been no way to change wheels easily in the field which increase expense and limits the lifetime of the product. This enhanced feature is sure to make this mayo stand last longer and look better in your facility!
There are 3 different tray sizes available for this mayo stand. The trays are 304 grade stainless steel and easily remove for cleaning. The smallest is 12 5/8″ x 19 1/8″ which is used in small cases or where space is tight. The medium size is 16 1/4″ x 21 1/4″ and is the most popular size. It is a great balance between size and functionality. The large size is 20″ x 25″ and is great for those intense cases where a large area is need to facilitate the procedure. These 3 sizes meet most needs in the surgical area.
Another unique feature of the mayo stand is its ability to slide under the base of any operating table. The profile of the feet is 3/8″ and enables the base to be slid right under the table and allow the tray to be directly adjacent to the surgical site.
The foot operated control allows any nurse that is scrubbed in to adjust the stand. To raise, simply lift up on the tray and stop at the desired height. The tray will remain at that height. To lower, simply support the tray and depress the foot pedal. Lower the tray to the desired height and release the foot pedal. The tray will stay at that level.
